Job Description
Job Title: Principal Engineer
Duration: Contract 12 Months
Location: Juno Beach FL
Job Description:
- Responsible for planning and organizing an engineering project and the application of complex engineering skills requiring advanced knowledge. May supervise a small group of engineering professionals as a project leader. Makes independent decisions which are not regularly subject to technical review. Requires at least 10 years of experience and a B.S. in Engineering. Professional Engineering certification strongly preferred.
- This position works with the Early Stage Project Manager to define and influence the project requirements and scope with Transmission Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 competitive transmission project proposals or as greenfield projects for affiliates (Lone Star GridLiance NEETNY etc.). The candidate will manage EORs support narrative and commercial strategy with Early Stage PMs Development and other stakeholders. The candidate will need to have an understanding of ISO requirements emerging issues (such is wildfire mitigation strategies) and upcoming competitive windows. The candidate would ideally have competitive RFP experience in the transmission space and have worked on HV or EHV transmission line design and execution. Having commercial and contract negotiation experience is also a plus.
Preferred qualifications:
- Min 7 years of transmission line design
- 115kV and above experience (230kV 345kV 500kV 765kV)
- FERC Order 1000 / Competitive RFP experience
- HVDC transmission line design experience
- 765kV transmission line design experience
- Commercial / Contract negotiation
- Understanding ISO requirements
