Job Description

Description
Responsibilities:
Provides project management on large scale complex high profile and high risk projects for OPS initiatives.
Ensures project deliverables meet clients business requirements on time scope and budget with a focus on costeffectiveness efficiencies and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.

General Skills:
Leads organizational development strategy development business planning and Ministry funding requests.
Gathers and develops requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
Ability to monitor and forecast project costs and provide reporting and input to ensure targets are met
Experience developing and managing project schedules deliverables and scope
Ability to promote project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
Demonstrated experience directing project teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time and adhere to government and ministry standards
Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures
Sources selects and onboards team members in various disciplines clarify roles and responsibilities and set task/deliverable/performance expectations for resources that are both OPS unionized employees as well as fee for service (FFS) consultants.
Resolves resourcing and interpersonal conflicts negotiates changes to resourcing ensures knowledge is shared among team members such as project objectives and deliverables are met.
Develops complex project budgets based on multiple funding channels and cross ministry dependencies.
Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates forecasts and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums
Provides project program and/or portfolio reporting to multistakeholders at senior executive levels.
Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects concept definition planning implementation and closeout.

Architect: An architect specializes in designing and planning buildings. They will be crucial in developing the restoration plans while ensuring compliance with heritage regulations and preservation standards.
Historic Preservation Specialist: This specialist focuses on preserving the historical and cultural integrity of the building. They will help navigate regulations and ensure that the restoration maintains the buildings authenticity.
Structural Engineer: A structural engineer assesses the buildings stability and determines necessary structural repairs or reinforcements. They ensure that the restored building meets safety standards while preserving its historic features.
Construction Manager: As the project manager you oversee the overall construction process including budgeting scheduling and coordination of resources. You ensure that the project progresses smoothly and meets quality standards.
Historical Researcher: This role involves researching the buildings history architecture and materials. They provide valuable insights into the buildings original design and construction techniques aiding in the restoration process.
Conservator: A conservator specializes in preserving and restoring historic materials such as wood stone or artwork. They ensure that original features are carefully treated and maintained during the restoration.
Contractor/Builders: Skilled craftsmen and tradespeople are essential for executing the restoration work such as carpenters masons plasterers and roofers. They have the expertise to carry out the necessary repairs and renovations while respecting the buildings historical character.
Environmental Specialist: This specialist assesses and addresses environmental concerns related to the restoration process such as lead paint removal asbestos abatement or environmental impact assessments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Managements Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge (40%)

  • Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring anticipates and troubleshoots issues provides ongoing expertise resolves problems and provides project effectiveness (10%)
