Job Description
Job Title: Database Administrator (US Citizens Only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Design install configure and maintain database systems (e.g. SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle).
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure the security and integrity of databases including backups recovery and access controls.
- Optimize database structures and queries for performance and scalability.
- Develop and implement strategies for database tuning and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to integrate databases with applications and systems.
- Maintain documentation of database configurations processes and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in database management systems like SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of database security backup/recovery techniques and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with database design modeling and normalization.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python PowerShell or Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
- Experience with cloudbased database solutions (e.g. Amazon RDS Azure SQL Google Cloud SQL).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios SolarWinds or similar.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
