KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our 5th through 8th grade classrooms in the 202425 school year. Teachers are assigned one grade level and are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment implementing curriculum assessing students collaborating with their team building relationships with families and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
OUR CURRENT MODEL
5th 8th Grade: all lead teachers are departmentalized. A single lead teacher in each classroom is responsible for teaching specific subjects (e.g. only math). Class size is approximately 26 students. In this model most teachers plan for one subject and teach lessons to multiple cohorts of students.

Our current starting salary for a firstyear lead teacher is $50000

To support teacher practice and their growth all lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.
*The salary offered in the DocuSign doesnt include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our first year of paying out millage stipends certified NewtoKIPP instructional staff received an additional $7000. Certified staff also received TSIA stipends this year. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends.

Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (examples include a Statement of Eligibility a temporary certificate or a professional certificate from the FLDOE in Elementary Education K6 Middle Grades Content 59 or Secondary Content 612)
At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

ESOL Endorsement
Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress)
Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven trackrecord of high achievement in the classroom in an elementary grade level
