Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The role of the Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and enhancing L&D processes group-wide. He/she applies Learning and Development expertise for creating and maintaining a dynamic learning environment for participants.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Support the planning of learning and development activities to meet organizational needs and analyses progress against the overall Learning and Development/ Talent Management strategy.
  • Support the L&D Operations Manager with identifying training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and HC Business Partners.
  • Manage and maintain the learning catalogue, including course materials.
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers.
  • Coordinate with external training providers to meet MAF learning needs.
  • Manage the reporting system to track progress, tailoring reports to meet the needs of the various stakeholders, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Manage all logistics requirements for internal & external learning interventions.
  • Follow up on training requests approval & archiving.
  • Training Needs Assessment:

    • Collaborate with department heads, managers, and employees to identify skill gaps and training needs.
    • Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather feedback on current training programs and future learning needs.
    • Analyze employee performance data to determine areas requiring development.
  • Program Development:

    • Design and develop training programs and materials (e.g., workshops, e-learning courses, seminars) that address specific learning objectives and align with business goals.
    • Use a variety of delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning, to ensure accessibility and engagement.
    • Develop content that is relevant, practical, and aligns with best practices in adult learning.
  • Training Delivery:

    • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at various levels within the organization.
    • Ensure that training materials are engaging, interactive, and support different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
    • Manage or oversee the delivery of training sessions by external vendors or trainers, when necessary.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s degree in HR or Education.
Possess minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
Proficient in the use of common professional skills software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Ability to analyse and solve problems.
Ability to work with diverse population base.
Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Training Design: Strong ability to design and develop engaging and effective training programs that meet the needs of the organization.
Facilitation: Expertise in delivering training programs to diverse groups, with a focus on making the content interactive and engaging.
Analytical Skills: Ability to assess learning needs, measure training effectiveness, and use data to inform decisions.
Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate and implement training programs efficiently.
Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, to engage learners and convey training content.
Technology Savvy: Comfortable using e-learning tools, LMS platforms, video conferencing tools, and other training technologies.
Coaching and Mentoring: Ability to provide ongoing guidance and support to employees to help them develop their skills.
