Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Laminate Design Engineer to join our F1 Engineering office here at Williams Racing working on a wide variety of projects.
This is a fastpaced environment and to succeed in this role the candidate will need to be adaptable demonstrate initiative and enjoy working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
As a Laminate Design Engineer you will:
- Transfer Design and Structural information into manufacturable instructions.
- Generation of laminate wireframes using CAD.
- Production of Laminate Plybooks and associated documentation to agreed standards.
- Creation of 2D DXF files for transfer to the Kitting Department using Fibresim.
- Assisting with laminate enquiries from inhouse and subcontract companies.
- Support Composite Design when required on various projects.
- Promote best design practice including driving continuous improvement to enhance design for manufacture capabilities.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has a good understanding of composites engineering and manufacturing technologies. Hands on experience is beneficial.
- Strong CAD skills ideally with experience of NX and Fibresim however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems or beginners.
- Has a creative proactive approach to problemsolving along with attention to detail.
- Friendly collaborative outlook with good communication and organization skills.
- The ability to prioritise work to varying deadlines.
- Clear and concise documentation skills.
