Job Description
Leading multidisciplinary team is looking for a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer for their Pittsburgh team!
Responsibilities:
- Lead plumbing design on a variety of projects (Healthcare/Labs Industrial Education Institutional and Commercial)
- Develop the following:
o Project scope
o Schedule
o Plumbing and fire protection budget/design approach
o Feasibility studies/project cost estimate
o Value engineering
o Code Review
o Project specifications
- Perform project management duties
- Coordinate project with architects clients and contractors
- Review show drawings
- Prepare construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic through the construction document phases
- Perform/direct complex design of piping and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems for large scale buildings
- Specify plumbing/fire protection equipment
- Perform QAQC on projects
- Mentor/train junior staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 5 years of Plumbing Design experience in Consulting Engineering
- CBD or CBDT required
- EI or PE License preferred
- Proficient in local/national building codes and design practices
- Extensive knowledge of the following:
o Plumbing Codes and Uniform Plumbing Codes
o NFPA 54; National Fuel Gas Code
o Relevant building codes sustainability green building rating systems industry standards
o LEED compliance documentation
o Plumbing design/calculation resources
o Revit and AutoCAD
- Understanding of and continued education of relevant trends/standard methodologies
Salary is commensurate with experience.
