The Director of Quality and Risk Management oversees department operations to align with organizational objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This role includes managing risk patient safety initiatives accreditation processes and fostering a culture of safety while supporting professional development within the team.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement departmental goals and standards in line with clinical administrative and legal requirements.
- Oversee operations including patient care delivery service levels complaint resolution and compliance.
- Manage staffing activities such as hiring training evaluations and continuing education.
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets to ensure compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure readiness for accreditation surveys.
- Provide leadership and support for risk management including data analysis incident reporting and grievance resolution.
- Facilitate root cause analyses and implement risk reduction strategies to address identified gaps.
- Collaborate with patient safety quality improvement and patient experience teams to ensure alignment.
- Develop educational programs to promote safety and regulatory compliance.
- Lead the development and implementation of regulatory readiness plans and action items.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to assess processes outcomes and potential solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing required; Masters in Nursing Business or Healthcarerelated field preferred.
- Certifications:
- Current KY or MultiState RN licensure.
- CPHQ certification required within one year of employment.
- Certification in Risk Management through a nationally recognized program preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of RN healthcare experience with 2 years in quality or clinical nursing leadership preferred.
- Experience in risk management accreditation and insurance industry supportive of skills.
- Familiarity with Department of Health and Joint Commission standards.
- Skills:
- Strong critical thinking decisionmaking and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and statistical analysis.
- Leadership capabilities including strategic planning adaptability and fiscal responsibility.
