Job Description
- Design and develop welding procedures and specifications.
- Evaluate and select appropriate welding techniques for various materials.
- Conduct materials testing and analysis to determine suitability for weldability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Oversee welding operations and provide technical guidance to welding staff.
- Implement quality control measures to track and improve welding productivity.
- Collaborate with product design teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshoot weldingrelated issues.
- Provide training and mentorship on welding techniques and safety practices.
- Document welding processes and maintain records for quality assurance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to welding operations.
- Participate in project planning and execution for weldingrelated projects.
- Work with procurement to select suitable welding equipment and materials.
- Stay updated on new welding technologies and industry trends.
- Engage with customers and vendors to clarify welding specifications and requirements.
- Bachelors degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in welding engineering or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes such as MIG TIG and arc welding.
- Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g. AWS ASME).
- Understanding of metallurgical properties and material science principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing welding fixtures.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and ISO standards.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead teams.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to welding.
- Experience with welding inspections and NDT techniques.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and project evaluations.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay abreast of industry advancements.
