Job Title: L3 Oracle Cloud Administrator
Job Summary:
The L3 Oracle Cloud Administrator is a seniorlevel role responsible for managing maintaining and optimizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services. This position involves handling advanced technical challenges providing support for escalated issues from L1 and L2 teams and ensuring the reliability security and performance of Oracle Cloud environments. The role also includes contributing to cloud architecture automation and guiding strategic decisions on Oracle Cloud adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design deploy and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) components including compute instances block storage virtual cloud networks (VCNs) and Oracle Database Cloud Services.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Oracle Cloud services (PaaS IaaS DBaaS) to align with business needs.
- Manage hybrid cloud environments integrating Oracle Cloud with onpremise systems.
- Provide advanced (L3) support for complex Oracle Cloud issues related to networking database performance and application integration.
- Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks cloud outages and configurationrelated issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Strengthen Oracle Cloud security by applying best practices for identity and access management (IAM) encryption and network security (e.g. VPNs VCNs security lists).
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies including data protection and governance standards.
- Apply patches upgrades and fixes to maintain secure and uptodate cloud environments documenting changes as required.
- Automate provisioning scaling and monitoring of Oracle Cloud resources using tools such as Terraform Ansible or Oracle Cloud Shell scripts.
- Develop scripts for automated backups monitoring and routine maintenance of OCI resources.
- Analyze usage patterns to optimize cost and resource utilization implementing rightsizing strategies where appropriate.
- Design and implement highavailability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions to minimize downtime for critical services.
- Configure and maintain backup solutions for Oracle databases and other OCI services ensuring recovery processes are regularly tested and documented.
- Utilize Oracle Cloud Monitoring and thirdparty tools to proactively monitor the cloud infrastructure and address potential issues promptly.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in managing and troubleshooting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform Ansible and scripting (e.g. Python Shell).
- Strong knowledge of networking virtualization and database management in cloud environments.
- Expertise in implementing security best practices and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to handle escalated issues and provide solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies and Oracle Cloud monitoring tools.
- Experience with highavailability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations.
