Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/xray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician registered nurses and cardiovascular technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates responsibility for xray equipment and image quality in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
2. Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
3. Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
4. Accurately processes images matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.
5. Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.
6. Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table panner in all diagnostic and interventional procedures
7. Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
8. Rotates calls for all emergency and addon procedures.
9. Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.
