Overview
The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) position in Dwarka Delhi is pivotal for ensuring highquality care in the ICU environment. With at least 5 years of experience in ICU settings and an MBBS degree the SMO will be responsible for the supervision of medical staff patient care strategies and protocol adherence. This position involves working closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The SMO will also play a critical role in strategic planning emergency response and training of junior medical staff. A successful candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities and commitment to excellence in patient care while actively participating in the continuous improvement of healthcare delivery within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and interns.
- Conduct rounds and ensure accurate patient assessments.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Enhance patient care protocols in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and case reviews.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary modifications to treatment.
- Respond to medical emergencies and act promptly.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding patient status and care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Conduct research and contribute to the academic environment of the ICU.
- Train and educate nursing staff on best practices in ICU patient care.
- Ensure proper functioning of ICU equipment and technology.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Strong clinical skills and thorough understanding of critical care protocols.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of current medical practices and procedures.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong decisionmaking capabilities under pressure.
- Proficient in medical software and electronic medical records.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong leadership and teamwork qualities.
- Familiarity with hospital administrative processes.

- Registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI).
