Overview
The Product Definition Engineer for Aero Engine Components plays a pivotal role in the aerospace industry focusing on the design development and implementation of component specifications for aero engines. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles design methodologies and aerospace regulations. With a minimum of six years of experience the engineer will work closely with various teams including design manufacturing and quality assurance to ensure that products meet stringent industry standards. The engineer is responsible for creating detailed product definition documents that serve as a guide for both internal and external stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain product definition specifications for aero engine components.
- Collaborate with design engineers to generate and review 3D CAD models and drawings.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing process addressing any designrelated issues.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including requirements test plans and process flows.
- Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Engage in crossfunctional projects ensuring alignment between engineering manufacturing and quality teams.
- Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve product design and functionality.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness adhering to project timelines.
- Support the creation of test and validation plans for component performance.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and advancements to enhance product competitiveness.
- Assist in training junior engineers and mentoring staff on product definition practices.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure project clarity and direction.
- Conduct data analysis to assess product performance and inform design decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in product definition or related engineering roles.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software such as CATIA SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of aero engine components and their applications.
- Experience in developing technical documentation and product specifications.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
- Effective project management skills with a focus on timely delivery.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and problemsolving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
