The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts providing exceptional service to clients and acting as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers. This role involves maintaining and growing existing client relationships identifying new business opportunities and ensuring clients have the coverage they need for their business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients handling all inquiries policy changes and renewals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients understanding their business needs and insurance requirements.
- Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Address daytoday client concerns provide guidance on insurance policies and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Policy Administration:
- Assist clients with policy renewals endorsements and audits ensuring coverage meets their business needs.
- Review and process policy changes certificates of insurance and other necessary documents.
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals coordinating with underwriters to negotiate competitive pricing and coverage terms.
- Client Education:
- Explain complex insurance terms and conditions to clients in clear understandable language.
- Educate clients on risk management strategies and offer coverage recommendations to safeguard their business assets.
- Stay uptodate on industry trends and regulatory changes that may affect clients coverage needs.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with producers underwriters and other team members to coordinate services and ensure a seamless client experience.
- Communicate with insurance carriers to facilitate the quoting process claims handling and other accountrelated activities.
- Support sales teams with prospecting new business development and crossselling opportunities.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions policy details and account changes in the agency management system.
- Ensure all activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in commercial lines insurance account management or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products coverage options and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using agency management systems and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Insurancerelated certifications (CIC CPCU or similar).
- Experience working with multiple carriers and underwriters.
- Bachelors degree in business insurance or a related field.
