Job Description
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interior designers and project managers to understand project requirements.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates.
- Use AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings and specifications for cost estimation.
- Conduct research to obtain competitive material and labor prices.
- Prepare and submit project cost proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Review and update cost estimates based on design changes and project developments.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials and services at optimal costs.
- Provide guidance to project teams on costeffective strategies and value engineering options.
- Document and maintain records of all estimation activities and communications.
- Participate in project meetings and provide costrelated updates and recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the estimation process and tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in interior design cost estimation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Interior Design Architecture Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in interior design estimation preferably in commercial or residential projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant estimation software.
- Strong understanding of interior design materials construction methods and building codes.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations.
- Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications for estimation purposes.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and client interactions.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Detailoriented and organized approach to maintaining estimation records and documentation.
- Familiarity with project management and scheduling software is advantageous.
- Understanding of cost analysis techniques and value engineering principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and integrity in all estimation activities.
- Professional certifications in interior design or cost estimation are preferred.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technology and industry practices.
