Job Description
Our client seeks an experienced Purchasing Buyer to optimize supplier costs while ensuring quality and operational efficiency. This onsite role focuses on strategic sourcing supplier negotiations and driving measurable cost reductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute costsaving procurement strategies.
- Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers.
- Source and procure a wide range of materials including:
- Electrical components (panels switches breakers etc.)
- Machined parts (sheet metal CNC machined components etc.)
- General industrial automation hardware
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Interpret technical drawings to meet production and engineering needs.
- Lead sourcing activities including RFQs and supplier selection.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and implement best practices in procurement
- Stay up to date with market trends supplier innovations and new technologies to ensure optimal sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering production and quality teams to resolve supply chain challenges and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 5 years in procurement or supply chain ideally in industrial/manufacturing.
- Experience as an engineer or technical professional.
- Familiarity with electrical components machined parts and industrial automation hardware.
- Strong negotiation analytical and problemsolving abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- ERP systems procurement tools and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven track record of achieving measurable cost savings in procurement.
