Position Details:
- Title: Math Teacher / Science Teacher

- Location: Calumet City IL
- Duration: ASAP June 2025
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Contract
- Working Hours: 3035 hours weekly from Monday to Friday
- Student Age Group: Middle school
Responsibilities: Math Teacher / Science Teacher
- Demonstrate exemplary classroom math / science instructional practice.
- Possess a deep understanding of mathematics /science theory for effective best practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps.
- Prepare learning materials and lesson plans for other support staff.
- Work with both special education and regular education students who are not yet demonstrating gradelevel proficiency in math / science.
- Deliver instruction in smallgroup settings.
- Develop instructional materials and coordinate the delivery of instruction by support staff.
- Work in conjunction with the Director of Special Education and members of the Instructional Leadership Team to evaluate student achievement for placing students in appropriate intervention and support services.
- Regularly analyze data from interim assessments and other progress monitoring tools to assess student progress while delivering focused intervention to students.
- Motivate struggling learners and work to change negative selfperceptions that some students have about their ability to be good at math / science.
Qualifications: Math Teacher / Science Teacher
- Bachelors Degree.
- Valid Certificate to Teach in Illinois.
- Two years or more of classroom teaching experience or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject
