Job Description

Overview

The role of an ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Engineer is critical in ensuring that various low voltage systems operate efficiently and safely within an organization. ELV Engineers specialize in the design installation and maintenance of essential systems such as security fire alarms communication and audiovisual systems. As technology becomes more integrated into daily business operations the demand for skilled engineers in this field has increased significantly. The ELV Engineer not only ensures compliance with relevant standards and regulations but also collaborates closely with project managers designers and technical teams to deliver highquality projects on time and within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of both technical aspects and project management to ensure that all systems function cohesively. In essence the ELV Engineer plays a vital role in enhancing the operational efficiency and security of a facility making it a valued position within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ELV systems including CCTV access control and fire alarm systems.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess client requirements for system implementation.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications and documentation for ELV projects.
  • Oversee the configuration and commissioning of ELV systems onsite.
  • Collaborate with architects and electrical engineers during project planning.
  • Test and validate the performance of installed systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide technical support to clients regarding system functionalities and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare project schedules and manage timelines effectively.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and system upgrades as required.
  • Ensure all installations adhere to local safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Document all project phases including adjustments and refinements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure quality supply of materials for projects.
  • Assist in budget planning and cost estimation for ELV projects.
  • Remain updated on new technologies and best practices in ELV systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an ELV Engineer or similar role in the industry.
  • Professional certifications in low voltage systems or related areas are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ELV systems including security fire alarm and communication systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to ELV systems.
  • Proficient in using design software and tools relevant to ELV engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to various sit
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
