Job Description
Overview: The AWS Architect plays a pivotal role in the organizations cloud strategy and implementation focusing on the design and optimization of cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position is critical in ensuring that cloud solutions meet both the technical and business requirements effectively and efficiently. The AWS Architect will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to craft scalable and secure cloud architectures that enhance operational efficiency while minimizing costs. With a focus on innovation and best practices this role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies along with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders. As a leader in cloud architecture the AWS Architect will also be instrumental in mentoring junior staff and driving best practices that align with the organizations strategic goals. By leveraging the broad capabilities of AWS the architect will ensure the organization stays ahead of cloud technology trends and maintains a competitive edge.
- Design and implement scalable reliable and secure cloud architectures on AWS.
- Evaluate existing applications and recommend cloud optimization opportunities.
- Work with DevOps teams to automate processes and deployment pipelines.
- Conduct cost analysis for AWS resources and optimize cloud expenditure.
- Engage in proofofconcept projects to demonstrate new solutions on AWS.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate AWS services into applications.
- Implement best practices for security and data protection in cloud environments.
- Develop architectural diagrams and documentation for cloud infrastructures.
- Lead the migration of onpremises infrastructure to AWS.
- Perform technical assessments of potential cloudbased solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide expert guidance.
- Monitor and manage cloud performance metrics to ensure optimal operation.
- Stay updated on AWS services and industry trends to inform architecture decisions.
- Mentor junior architects and developers on cloudbased technologies.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud solutions.
- Provide training and support for staff on AWS tools and services.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- 68 years of experience in cloud architecture specifically with AWS.
- Expertise in AWS services including EC2 S3 RDS Lambda etc.
- Strong understanding of networking and security protocols.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with microservices architectures and containerization (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data storage solutions.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for automation.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced collaborative environment.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
- Demonstrated experience in driving cloud adoption strategies.
