Overview
The Steward plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas within the establishment. As a key member of the hospitality team the Steward ensures that all dishes utensils and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized contributing to a safe and excellent dining experience for guests. This position goes beyond basic cleanliness; it involves actively supporting kitchen operations collaborating with chefs and helping to maintain inventory levels. The Steward serves as a foundational support role enabling other staff to focus on food preparation and service while also ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. This role is crucial in enhancing overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in busy hospitality environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all dishes glassware utensils pots and pans.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors countertops and storage units.
- Help in the preparation area by getting ingredients ready as required by chefs.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining room and banquet areas.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly to maintain hygiene standards.
- Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and report low stock levels to management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all cleaning practices.
- Support kitchen staff during peak times by providing assistance as needed.
- Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies delivered to the kitchen.

Required Qualifications
