Job Description

Overview
The Event Manager plays a critical role in the planning execution and management of various corporate and social events. This position is central to ensuring that each event is delivered seamlessly while enhancing the organization s reputation and visibility. The Event Manager collaborates with clients to understand their needs develops event concepts manages budgets and coordinates logistics. In a fastpaced environment the Event Manager must possess excellent organizational and communication skills to negotiate agreements with vendors and ensure all aspects of the event are delivered on time and within budget. By leading teams and working closely with stakeholders this role significantly contributes to the overall experience of attendees and the overall success of the organization s event strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage event concepts based on client objectives.
  • Create and maintain event budgets ensuring all costs are monitored and controlled.
  • Coordinate all logistics including venue selection catering and equipment rental.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts.
  • Oversee event design including layout decoration and audiovisual requirements.
  • Manage event marketing initiatives to promote attendance and engagement.
  • Monitor event progress and handle any issues that arise promptly.
  • Lead and manage teams of staff and volunteers during events.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct postevent evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain thorough records of event planning processes and outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and new technologies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and attendees.
  • Assist with the development of promotional materials and social media content.
  • Report to senior management on event performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Event Planning or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in event management or planning.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing events of various sizes.
  • Strong understanding of budgets and financial management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts with vendors.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual requirements and event technology.
  • Demonstrated creativity and a passion for event planning.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Strong networking skills and local connections.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively and motivate staff.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations regarding events.
