Job Description
Overview
The Senior Backend Developer SDE 3 plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of highperformance backend systems that drive our applications and services. This role requires advanced knowledge in multiple programming languages and frameworks as well as proficiency in database design and management. As part of our engineering team you will lead the design and architecture of scalable APIs collaborating closely with both frontend developers and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability performance and security while adopting industry best practices. This position also involves mentoring junior developers supporting code reviews and contributing to an innovative and agile environment. Your ability to break down complex problems into actionable tasks will be essential in delivering robust solutions that meet business needs. Being an SDE 3 means you should be proactive in implementing new technologies and processes that enhance our software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and deploy scalable backend systems.
- Implement RESTful APIs to support frontend functionality.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate userfacing elements.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to improve performance.
- Manage and maintain databases to ensure seamless data flow.
- Work with DevOps team to automate deployment and CI/CD processes.
- Participate in the design and architectural discussions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose innovations.
- Document development processes code changes and technical specifications.
- Ensure security and data protection measures are implemented correctly.
- Contribute to agile project planning and task management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8 years of experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in Java or similar programming languages.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Strong knowledge of API development and integration.
- Familiarity with relational and nonrelational database systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure etc.).
- Understanding of containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks.
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with version control systems particularly Git.
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
