Virtual Rockstar is looking for a highly skilled fulltime Prior Authorization Specialist to join our client s physical therapy team in Texas. This role is key in ensuring that our client s patients receive timely and appropriate authorization for physical therapy services allowing them to focus on their recovery without unnecessary delays.

The Prior Authorization Specialist will be responsible for handling all aspects of the authorization process for physical therapy services. This includes obtaining prior authorizations for initial evaluations reevaluations auto cases and workers compensation cases as well as ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will also be proficient in submitting retroauthorizations and updating our WebPT EMR system with authorization confirmation.
Responsibilities:
Obtain prior authorization for initial evaluations and reevaluations with commercial insurance plans.
Handle authorization requests for auto accident cases and workers compensation claims.
Submit and follow up on authorizations to ensure timely approval.
Submit retroauthorizations when necessary.
Ensure that the WebPT EMR system is updated with authorization confirmations and relevant patient information.
Work closely with the billing and clinical teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all prior authorization processes.
Proven experience in obtaining and managing prior authorizations for physical therapy services.
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance plans auto cases and workers compensation.
Proficiency with WebPT EMR and Microsoft Office 365 is a plus.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
Detailoriented with strong followup skills to ensure all authorizations are obtained and processed in a timely manner.
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
A positive proactive attitude with the ability to work in a remote team environment.
