Job Description
Job Title: Director of Surgical Services
Location: Pasadena TX
Shift: FullTime Variable Shifts (12Hour Shifts) 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours Total)
Salary Range: $113963 $142459 per year based on experience
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Surgical Services to lead and manage our perioperative team ensuring safe patient care and operational excellence. The Director will have 24/7 accountability for the surgical services department overseeing all aspects of operations quality care and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve real/potential issues affecting the surgical services department with consistent followthrough and communication
- Actively participate in hospitalwide and departmental committees providing regular updates and feedback
- Enhance the customer experience in surgical services through innovative and evidencebased practices
- Coach and mentor staff providing constructive feedback and development plans while documenting performance
- Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures
- Communicate key departmental organizational and industry updates to staff
- Foster positive employee engagement practices and build strong relationships with staff physicians and other stakeholders
- Participate in patient and staff rounding identifying and mentoring potential future leaders
- Develop and maintain standards of care ensuring consistent regulatory and accreditation compliance
- Lead an ongoing surgical services program ensuring highquality patient care aligned with the hospitals mission
- Manage fiscal responsibilities including budgeting and capital equipment requests while optimizing the departments financial resources
- Drive growth strategies including expanding services and introducing new technologies or programs
- Oversee performance improvement (PI) programs to monitor and evaluate critical aspects of patient care
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (required)
- Masters degree in Nursing Business Administration Healthcare Administration or related field (preferred)
- 3 years of recent leadership experience in an acute care surgical services department with a focus on the operating room (required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required)
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification (preferred)
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification (preferred)
- Experience managing a surgical services department with 10 operating rooms robotic surgery and complex case loads
