About the Role
A growing engineering firm is seeking an experienced Municipal Engineering Director to lead and expand its Municipal Engineering Division. This position will report directly to the CEO and oversee the Building Official Department and the newly established Municipal Engineering Department. The role involves managing municipal projects ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering strong relationships with city officials and communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Municipal Engineering Division utilizing company relationships in local communities.
- Oversee municipal projects ensuring they are completed on time within budget and meet quality standards.
- Attend local city council meetings and represent the company in municipal discussions.
- Collaborate with clients stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
- Ensure all projects comply with local state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in municipal engineering civil engineering or city engineering.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with municipal governments and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one in Minnesota.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS.
