Are you a seasoned and compassionate nursing professional with strong leadership skills We are hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department at our skilled nursing facility in Essex NY. Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Nursing you will ensure the nursing department operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of care. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Oversee and supervise all nursing staff in the facility.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Policy & Procedures:
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
- Staff Management:
- Manage the hiring training and continued employment of nursing staff.
- Monitor staff performance and support ongoing professional development.
- Resident Care:
- Assess the health needs of each resident and ensure their care plans are effective.
- Address incidents and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and maintain current staff competencies.
- Oversee nursing employee conduct and performance.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NY (required).
- 5 years of experience in longterm care settings (required).
- 2 years of supervisory or management experience (required).
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational communication and decisionmaking abilities.
