Job Description
- Analyzes software applications in terms of equipment/application requirements and capabilities.
- Writes new programs and analyzes reviews and rewrites existing programs to solve problems increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Prepares test data. Corrects program errors.
- Documents the methods and procedures used in developing testing and correcting programs.
- Assists in designing programs and systems architecture; preparing program specifications; coding testing and debugging computer programs.
Requirements - Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Mathematics or a related field.
- Experience in FORTRAN is required.
- Proven experience as a Fortran developer or in a similar role.
- Atleast 10 years of experience in relevant field or similar role.
- Strong understanding and proficiency in Fortran programming.
- Experience with scientific and engineering computing applications.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies.
- Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting Fortran applications.
- Experience with code optimization and refactoring for performance improvements.
- Competence in conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Ability to perform unit testing and validate code changes effectively.
- Familiarity with integrating Fortran applications with other software systems.
- Solid understanding of modern computing environments and migration processes.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work in crossfunctional teams.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong documentation skills for code and development processes.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Fortran and scientific computing.
