Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the perioperative/surgical setting provides comprehensive patient care throughout the surgical process including preoperative intraoperative and postoperative phases. This role involves performing thorough patient assessments delivering competent clinical care maintaining accurate documentation ensuring patient safety and contributing to a positive patient experience. The RN works closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient assessments across the lifespan.
- Administer patient care in the perioperative environment and assist with emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Provide patient education before and after surgery ensuring understanding of procedures.
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals and ensure proper safety protocols.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to provide coordinated care.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold hospital policies and ethical standards.
