Job Description

Job Title: Oracle Performance Engineer
Location: Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate application system and ecosystem performance and scalability across multiple tiers emphasizing the data tier.
  • Identify performance and scalability bottlenecks and implement solutions to resolve issues.
  • Simulate user/system traffic and measure component behavior under load to predict system performance under stress.
  • Optimize code queries and configurations to enhance response times scalability and resource efficiency (CPU memory I/O).
  • Analyze Oracle wait events AWR raw data and trace files to correlate with system behavior.
  • Generate and interpret AWR ASH and ADDM reports.
  • Evaluate future performance needs based on trends traffic patterns and growth projections.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for performance issues.
  • Present complex results metrics and analyses to diverse audiences including technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Document technical findings solutions and predictions using tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing application performance across multiple tiers.
  • Expertise in identifying and resolving performance and scalability bottlenecks.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle wait interface and event analysis.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning for large Oracle databases in AWS (50 TB) and Exadata clusters.
  • Handson experience with singlenode nonExadata database tuning.
  • Strong Linux shell scripting skills SQL tuning and session tracing expertise.
  • Familiarity with AWR ASH and ADDM generation and analysis including raw data interpretation.
  • Ability to extrapolate system behavior under representative load to predict fullload performance.
  • Indepth knowledge of Oracle internals related to database performance.
  • Experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of application behavior performance patterns and interaction with databases.
  • Exceptional technical writing and diagramming skills with tools like Visio Erwin and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while delivering highquality outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within agile sprint teams using JIRA.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior experience with HHS agencies handling PII/PHI or working with HL7 data.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and its unique performance needs.
