As a Critical Communications Program Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing cybersecurity policies and strategies to support secure communications within the Department of Defense. You ll leverage your expertise in cybersecurity encryption technologies and strategic policy analysis to guide highlevel leadership in navigating the complexities of an evolving IT and cyber environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor policies and procedures to support information and privacy security goals and operations.
- Propose changes in policy or strategy to support new initiatives or adapt to emerging challenges.
- Manage the information security landscape of the organization ensuring alignment with leadership directives.
- Apply cuttingedge principles theories and concepts to address complex cybersecurity challenges offering innovative solutions.
- Mentor and supervise employees fostering firm and technical competencies within the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks ensure compliance with regulations and develop strategic cyber roadmaps.
- Evaluate current cybersecurity policies against best practices and industry standards.
- Lead the development of solutions that enhance the organization s operational security posture.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor s degree in cybersecurity or a technologyrelated field with 16 years of experience in cybersecurity OR a Master s degree in a related field with 12 years of experience OR 18 years of experience in cybersecurity in lieu of a degree
- Experience:
Supporting and interacting with senior executives and senior military leadership.
Working at the senior leadership level or with a Military Command at the Pentagon.
Technical Knowledge:
Indepth understanding of cybersecurity encryption technologies and cryptographic modernization trends.
Familiarity with Pentagon communication security governance bodies at the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff levels.
Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and military officers.
Proficiency in assessing briefing and managing technical programming and master schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cryptographic modernization trends including quantum technology impacts.
- Handson experience operating troubleshooting and maintaining communication technology within a Military Service.
- Certifications: CISSP or higher.
