Job Description

QA Engineer Automated III (Telework/Texas state area)

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder
  • Clearance Requirements: Tier 1 Background Investigation National Agency Check with Law and fingerprints. (Standard Form 85).
  • Travel: Travel is not authorized.
  • Type of Employment: Fulltime 40 hours per week.
  • Period of Performance: 20 January 2025 to 31 August 2025
  • Estimate Pay: $36.78 to $41.30

Working Hours:
Work is typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. While the schedule may need to be flexible it will not exceed 40 hours per week or 1550 hours total. The contractor may be occasionally called upon for afterhours as needed.

Summary:
QA automation engineers design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. This includes determining the priority for test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios. Designing documentation for automated processes.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding and experience with fundamental programming and testing concepts particularly in the context of webbased UI applications.
  • Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with major coursework in computer science computer information systems engineering or management information systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience/knowledge of the principles practices and techniques of software development and the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including knowledge of industry accepted software engineering practices and life cycle methods (Agile).
  • Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems information technology equipment applicable programming languages computer hardware and software and computer operating systems.
  • Experience in analyzing requirements user stories and acceptance criteria and writing test plans and test scenarios to validate that the requirements are met within the application and/or business processes.
  • Skill analyzing software applications defects and business problems to draw evidencebased conclusions and devise innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skill using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) Katalon HP LoadRunner SoapUI LoadUI Selenium HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) HP Product Portfolio Management (PPM) SQL XML and running and creating interface files and running batch.
  • Experience working together with varied levels of development testing staff and endusers using Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Hands on software quality assurance (manual and/or automated testing) experience using one or more of HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) SoapUI Selenium HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) HP Product Portfolio Management (PPM) JIRA JAMA PLSQ.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform software quality assurance testing and support for various applications including TIERS YourTexasBenefits.com YourTexasBenefits Mobile App State Portal Workflow Management Eligibility Web Services Enterprise Document Services Enterprise Content Management Document Center Call Center Inquiry and other Social Services applications.
  • Develop enhance maintain and execute test plans and scenarios for webbased J2EE/Portal applications within HHSCs SOA platform using Agile methodologies.
  • Participate in requirements analysis test design test data preparation and testing of various application components.
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve project goals.
  • Create technical and design documentation as needed.
  • Utilize contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function correctly and without errors.
  • Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
  • Participate in program design coding and test walkthrough meetings to provide input on technical standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
