Job Description
Location: Houston/Galleria
Salary Range: $75000 $100000 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Position Type: FullTime (Officebased 5 days a week)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting principles financial reporting and transportation industry practices. This role includes overseeing daily accounting functions leading a team of accountants and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely execution of accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and general ledger activities.
Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Collaborate with management on budget development and forecasting.
Ensure the company maintains liquidity and meets financial obligations.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations tax requirements and audit standards.
Promote a positive and productive team environment.
Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting documentation.
Recommend improvements to accounting systems processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Prepare detailed financial analyses and adhoc reports as needed by senior management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role in the logistics freight forwarding or transportation industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks NetSuite SAP).
Familiarity with ERP systems (preferred).
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
