Job Description

We are seeking a detailoriented and efficient Bindery Operator 1 to join our team in Sacramento United States. As a key member of our print production facility you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various bindery machines to produce highquality finished products.

  • Set up adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines including folders cutters collators stitchers and drills
  • Operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilities
  • Inspect equipment for safety issues and perform routine maintenance
  • Make necessary adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine
  • Monitor quality output and productivity throughout the production process
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues
  • Assist in training new team members on bindery operations and procedures

Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with different paper types weights sizes and colors
  • Basic mathematics skills including understanding of decimals and metric units
  • Ability to use standard and specialized tools for machine adjustments
  • Skill in making adjustments to powered machines using handtools (e.g. wrenches screwdrivers punches knives)
  • Ability to read and interpret written work instructions and job orders
  • Knowledge of operating procedures for bindery equipment such as folders cutters collators and stitchers
  • Working knowledge of equipment setup adjustment and capabilities for folding collating and cutting printed materials
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Safetyconscious mindset and adherence to workplace safety protocols
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in print production is a plus
  • 12 years of experience in a bindery or print production environment preferred
