The Role: Construction Law Associate

We are seeking a Construction Law Associate to join a highly skilled team specializing in construction law. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with complex legal matters in a collaborative and collegial environment.

In this role you will:

  • Litigate Construction Disputes: Handle cases involving delay and disruption claims payment disputes mechanics lien bond and stop notice claims as well as breach of contract issues.
  • Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and litigation proceedings.
  • Draft and Negotiate Contracts: Assist with the preparation and negotiation of constructionrelated agreements.
  • Comprehensive Legal Support: Provide strategic legal advice and advocacy in complex litigation matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of construction law or equivalent complex litigation experience.
    • Broad litigation experience including motion and discovery practice.
  • Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Skills: Superb written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to developing expertise in construction law.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in largescale litigation AmLaw 100 firm background or judicial clerkship experience.
  • Licensure: Membership in the Illinois Bar is required.
