Role: Survey and Research Specialist
Location: Remote/Washington D.C.
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Position Overview:
The client seeks a Survey and Research Specialist to support the Research and Needs Assessment for the USIP.org website. This role will involve designing deploying and analyzing surveys focus groups and interviews to gather actionable insights from internal and external stakeholders. The specialist will play a vital role in understanding user needs behaviors and preferences to inform recommendations for website improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Survey Design and Deployment
Update and implement existing internal and external user surveys to align with project objectives.
Develop new surveys and questionnaires as needed to gather targeted insights.
Administer surveys using digital tools email campaigns and website popups to maximize response rates.
2. Focus Groups and Interviews
Organize and facilitate focus groups with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Conduct indepth interviews with key audience members to gain deeper insights into user experiences and expectations.
Develop and refine guiding documents and interview protocols to ensure consistency and relevance.
3. Data Collection and Analysis
Collect clean and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from surveys focus groups and interviews.
Use statistical and analytical tools to identify trends patterns and actionable findings.
Prepare detailed reports summarizing user insights and their implications for website design and functionality.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with USIP teams to identify key research questions and align survey objectives with organizational goals.
Collaborate with UX technical and strategy teams to integrate findings into broader project recommendations.
5. Reporting and Presentation
Deliver presentations and reports summarizing survey and research findings for USIPs project steering committee.
Contribute to the development of a final strategy brief highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Social Sciences Market Research Communications or a related field (Masters preferred).
Required Experience:
3 years of experience in survey design qualitative and quantitative research or a related role.
Proven experience conducting focus groups interviews and user research projects.
Familiarity with research methods for large organizations or nonprofit entities is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in survey tools (e.g. SurveyMonkey Qualtrics Google Forms).
Strong data analysis skills using tools like Excel SPSS R or similar software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present complex findings clearly.
Experience with usercentric research methods and audience segmentation.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
Key Deliverables:
Updated and deployed internal and external surveys including user feedback analysis.
Conducted and analyzed focus groups and interviews with key stakeholders.
Detailed reports summarizing research findings insights and actionable recommendations.
Contributions to the final strategy brief and project presentations.
