Job Description

INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER (Permanent)
Our client a civic organization in WNY is looking to hire an Internal Audit Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a resident of the City of Buffalo who is looking for a great worklife balance.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the audit process of various government agencies entities boards programs and services to ensure adherence with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards & Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAAS & GAGAS)
  • Plan and perform audits to ensure they are conducted in appropriate intervals according to governmental requirements and NFP standards
  • Ensure detailed/accurate financial reports are prepared documenting audit findings
  • Analyze audit results to determine corrective action plans and ensure implementation occurs in a timely manner
  • Manage and mentor audit staff conducting performance reviews and providing training when necessary
  • Develop new training programs when needed in order to ensure the audit staff is performing their responsibilities effectively
  • Manage the daily operations of the internal audit department by attending meetings presenting audit findings and corresponding with necessary personnel
  • Conduct investigations into confidential matters at the request of senior leadership
  • Manage the preparation of and adherence to the annual audit budget
  • Provide educated guidance and recommendations regarding audit and government accounting processes & procedures
  • Ensure compliance is maintained with local state and federal regulations at all times
  • Analyze current audit processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
  • Complete special projects in a timely manner.
  • Work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is fulltime direct hire
  • Hybrid work potential
  • Must live in the City of Buffalo or move to the city within 6 months of start date
  • $75000 $86000 annually depending on experience
  • Excellent Health/Dental/Vision Insurance or Healthcare allowance PTO Retirement match
  • Bachelor s/Associate s degree in Finance Economics Business plus appropriate years experience
  • 2 years experience in Supervisory Auditing and/or Accounting
  • Proficient computer skills specifically Excel & various financial software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Selfmotivated
  • Relocation not available
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
