Job Description

About the Role

The FSQA Team Leader manages food safety and quality assurance programs to uphold product integrity. This leadership role oversees laboratory operations coordinates crossfunctional teams and ensures compliance with regulatory and customer standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise lab technicians and sanitation teams ensuring quality and food safety goals are achieved across shifts.
  • Investigate nonconformance incidents conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage environmental monitoring programs allergen testing and chemical analysis to uphold safety standards.
  • Oversee coordination with external labs for specialized testing and collaborate with internal teams for quality improvements.
  • Train and develop staff on GMP compliance allergen controls and sanitation procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and address any identified deficiencies to improve operational standards.
  • Maintain documentation for quality and safety protocols including labels logs and compliance forms.
  • Support process enhancements and participate in strategic initiatives for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in biology chemistry food science or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of quality assurance or laboratory management experience in food production.
  • Certifications in HACCP PCQI and food defense protocols are highly desirable.
  • Experience with GFSI or SQF systems and advanced food safety practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory operations environmental monitoring and allergen management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software tools.
  • Proven ability to lead compliance training programs and drive team development.
  • Experience conducting food fraud vulnerability assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Flexibility to oversee multishift operations and provide weekend support when necessary.
