Job Description
Role: AWS Cloud Architect
Employment Type: FullTime
Workplace Type: Remote
Location: Washington DC USA
Is your head in the clouds
Our federal client is seeking a Cloud Architect to design manage and maintain their critical cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to support their production development and testing environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and optimize the existing AWS environment including virtual machines storage and key management systems.
- Implement cloud architecture solutions for new systems and applications as needed.
- Monitor system performance resource utilization and load to ensure costeffective and reliable operations.
- Proactively resolve issues affecting system readiness or security.
- Ensure the cloud environment complies with IT security directives NIST SP 80053 and other federal regulations.
- Oversee key management activities including encryption and key rotation using AWS KMS.
- Collaborate with DevOps Engineer to support CI/CD systems including Kubernetes Docker and Jenkins.
- Ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloudhosted applications.
- Maintain uptodate documentation of the cloud infrastructure and provide technical guidance on cloud best practices.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role managing AWS environments.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing largescale cloudbased systems.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services including EC2 S3 RDS and KMS.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins Kubernetes Docker and Terraform.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles including encryption patching and incident response.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with at least three years of continuous residency in the United States.
- Ability to pass a federal background check.
