Job Description: Senior Sustainability Consulting Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Sustainability Consulting Associate to join our team. As a Senior Associate you will take a leadership role in advising clients on sustainability strategies guiding them in achieving their environmental social and governance (ESG) goals. You will lead projects manage client relationships and contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable practices that reduce environmental impact improve resource efficiency and drive longterm value. This position offers the opportunity to lead highimpact projects across various industries while mentoring junior team members.
- Lead the creation and execution of sustainability strategies for clients across various industries focusing on reducing environmental impact and improving operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic guidance to clients in setting and achieving ambitious ESG goals ensuring alignment with their overall business objectives.
- Develop longterm sustainability roadmaps that incorporate renewable energy use waste reduction carbon footprint reduction and resource optimization.
- Analyze sustainability data including energy use water consumption carbon emissions and waste generation to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Create sustainability reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress toward sustainability goals.
- Lead the development of sustainability disclosures and ensure clients meet reporting standards (e.g. GRI SASB CDP TCFD).
- Develop strategies for measuring and reducing clients carbon footprint supporting them in transitioning to renewable energy and adopting lowcarbon technologies.
- Guide clients in improving resource efficiency through optimized energy use waste reduction and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental impact assessments to measure product or service sustainability and suggest improvements.
- Evaluate the sustainability of client supply chains and provide recommendations to improve the environmental and social performance of suppliers.
- Lead initiatives to help clients adopt sustainable sourcing practices reduce waste and improve supply chain transparency and resilience.
- Develop sustainable procurement strategies to help clients meet their sustainability goals and increase supplier collaboration.
- Advise clients on sustainabilityrelated regulations and standards helping them ensure compliance with environmental laws carbon regulations and industryspecific standards.
- Help clients navigate emerging regulatory trends and adapt their sustainability strategies to meet future compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks that address environmental social and governance risks helping clients proactively mitigate potential issues.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders managing and nurturing longterm client relationships.
- Lead client meetings and workshops presenting sustainability strategies datadriven insights and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
- Track project progress and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Lead and mentor junior consultants providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and the quality of work.
- Foster a collaborative highperformance team culture by sharing knowledge providing feedback and encouraging continuous learning.
- Oversee multiple projects ensuring alignment with client goals and that sustainability initiatives are effectively implemented.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends innovations and technologies in sustainability carbon management and renewable energy.
- Conduct research to develop new strategies and tools that enhance clients sustainability performance and enable them to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge resources methodologies and best practices for sustainability consulting.
- Bachelors degree in Sustainability Environmental Science Business Administration Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g. MBA MSE MPA) or relevant certifications (e.g. LEED PMP Six Sigma ISO 14001) are highly preferred.
- 5 7 years of experience in sustainability consulting environmental management or corporate responsibility.
- Proven track record of leading sustainability projects developing strategies and delivering impactful results across industries.
- Indepth knowledge of sustainability frameworks ESG reporting standards and environmental regulations.
- Strong expertise in sustainability analysis carbon footprint reduction resource efficiency and supply chain sustainability.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI CDP SASB) and tools for environmental data analysis.
- Expertise in project management with the ability to lead crossfunctional teams and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex sustainability topics to senior clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel Tableau Power BI and sustainabilityrelated software.
- A passion for sustainability and a deep commitment to driving environmental social and governance improvements.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to develop creative actionable solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
- Ability to work independently manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fastpaced consulting environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and mentor junior consultants.
