Job Description

Title: Application Solution Architect (Salesforce)

Location: Atlanta Georgia 30334 (Hybrid)

Application Solution Architect (Level3) Salesforce (IES Gateway Integration)

The Department of Early Care & Learning (DECL) is seeking an experienced Application Solution Architect specializing in Salesforce with expertise in integrating with statelevel platforms particularly the IES Gateway. This contract role focuses on designing and implementing scalable solutions that enable seamless integration between Salesforce and Georgias Integrated Eligibility System (IES) Gateway. The ideal candidate will combine deep Salesforce expertise with strong knowledge of government systems integration ensuring robust data interoperability for grant management and financial reporting workflows.

Work Location & Attendance Requirements:

  • Must be physically located in Georgia
  • Onsite: Tuesday to Thursday per managers discretion
  • Mandatory inperson meetings:
    • All Hands
    • Enterprise Applications
    • Onsite meetings
    • DECAL All Staff
  • Work arrangements subject to managements decision


While the intent may be a longterm tenure this position is subject to annual budget restrictions. The initial contract is through the end of this fiscal year and is anticipated to be renewed July 1st.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IES Gateway Integration: Design and implement comprehensive integration solutions between Salesforce and IES Gateway ensuring reliable data synchronization and process automation.
  • Solution Architecture: Develop endtoend Salesforce solutions that effectively leverage IES Gateway capabilities for grant management and financial reporting.
  • System Integration: Create robust integration patterns using APIs middleware and ETL tools to establish secure data flows between Salesforce and state systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide development teams in implementing integration solutions while ensuring adherence to both Salesforce and state system standards.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure solutions meet federal and state security requirements implementing proper data protection and audit mechanisms.
  • Business Collaboration: Partner with DECAL stakeholders to gather requirements and translate complex integration needs into technical solutions.
  • Grant Management: Design solutions that leverage IES Gateway for streamlined grant processing financial reporting and compliance tracking.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integration components including architecture diagrams API specifications and security protocols.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years in Salesforce architecture and development roles.
  • 2 years experience with government system integrations.
  • Proven experience with statelevel eligibility systems or similar platforms.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities and integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with API design web services and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies (MuleSoft SOAP/REST APIs middleware).
  • Deep understanding of government eligibility systems and grant management processes.

Essential Certifications:

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect
  • Salesforce Certified Integration Architect
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I

Optional Certification:

  • Salesforce Certified Data Architect

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work with government stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and documentation abilities.
  • Leadership qualities to guide crossfunctional teams.
  • Analytical approach to solving complex integration challenges.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience with statelevel system integrations.
  • Knowledge of federal grant management requirements.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies in government projects.
  • Experience with DevOps practices for Salesforce (CI/CD pipelines Gearset GitHub).
