Our Client is a Construction and Traffic Management Solution company. Who is currently in need of a LABORATORY MANAGER.
Location: Zamfara
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily laboratory operations ensuring accurate and timely analysis of construction materials.
- Develop implement and enforce rigorous quality assurance and control procedures.
- Supervise and mentor laboratory staff fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
- Liaise with project management teams to provide datadriven insights and recommendations for material utilization.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.
- Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure accurate and timetesting of construction materials.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment and initiate procurement of necessary items.
- Perform quality control testing to assess the strength durability and suitability of materials for construction projects.
- Prepare reports on Laboratory activities test results and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct and oversee a wide range of tests on construction materials including soil aggregates concrete asphalt and steel.
- Interpret test results and provide recommendations to project teams regarding material selection design specifications and construction methods.
- Participate in project meetings site visits and inspections as required.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among laboratory staff.
- Coordinate with external testing laboratories or consultants as necessary to supplement inhouse testing capabilities
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering Materials Science or a related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction laboratory environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for materials testing.
- Strong analytical critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent leadership abilities with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to work under pressure and within tight timelines.
- Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations
Proven experience in similar role.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
