Job Description: Summer Direct Lending Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Summer Direct Lending Associate to join our private credit investment team for a 10 12 week internship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in the direct lending sector working across the deal lifecycle including origination underwriting execution and portfolio management. As a Summer Associate you will collaborate with experienced professionals contribute to live transactions and gain valuable insights into private credit investing.
- Conduct market research to identify potential direct lending opportunities across diverse industries.
- Build and refine financial models to evaluate borrower cash flows debt capacity and investment returns.
- Analyze creditworthiness by reviewing financial statements industry trends and borrower operations.
- Assist in preparing detailed investment memoranda and presentations for internal investment committees.
- Participate in due diligence efforts including financial analysis covenant assessment and risk analysis.
- Support the structuring and negotiation of loan terms covenants and agreements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of transactions.
- Assist in preparing documentation and managing data rooms during deal processes.
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies by analyzing financial metrics and covenant compliance.
- Collaborate with portfolio management teams to address operational challenges and identify valuecreation opportunities.
- Assist in preparing regular portfolio performance updates for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Work closely with senior team members to develop credit underwriting skills and gain exposure to private credit markets.
- Participate in team discussions on deal sourcing market trends and portfolio strategies.
- Gain handson experience in the full investment lifecycle of direct lending transactions.
- Currently pursuing an MBA or other advanced degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in private credit or alternative investments.
- 2 4 years of prior experience in investment banking private equity credit analysis or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial modeling loan structures and credit underwriting is a plus.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of credit metrics loan structures and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Detailoriented highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.

- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
