Job Description: Generalist Private Credit Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Generalist Private Credit Associate to join our dynamic investment team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work across diverse industries and credit products including direct lending mezzanine debt structured credit and special situations. As an Associate you will play a key role in sourcing evaluating structuring and managing private credit investments while contributing to the strategic growth of the firms credit portfolio.
Key Responsibilities: Investment Sourcing and Analysis:
- Identify and evaluate private credit investment opportunities across various sectors.
- Conduct detailed credit analysis including financial statement reviews cash flow forecasting and covenant assessments.
- Build and oversee complex financial models to evaluate risk return profiles and capital structures.
- Prepare and present comprehensive investment memoranda and recommendations to investment committees.
Transaction Execution:
- Lead components of transaction processes including structuring negotiating and closing credit deals.
- Coordinate due diligence efforts including working with legal financial and operational advisors.
- Collaborate with internal teams to finalize transaction documentation and ensure seamless deal execution.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio investments by tracking key performance indicators covenant compliance and financial metrics.
- Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to address operational and financial challenges.
- Support value creation initiatives including refinancing recapitalization and strategic planning.
- Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance and risk assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
Market Research and Strategy:
- Stay informed on market trends regulatory changes and industry dynamics that affect private credit markets.
- Conduct research to support sectorspecific strategies and refine the firms investment approach.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives including developing market insights and industry white papers.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Mentor and guide junior team members providing training and feedback on financial modeling and deal analysis.
- Collaborate with senior team members to refine investment strategies and expand the firms credit portfolio.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Accounting Business Administration or a related field (required).
- Advanced degree (MBA Masters in Finance) or CFA designation (preferred but not required).
Professional Experience:
- 3 5 years of experience in private credit investment banking fixed income or related fields.
- Proven track record in credit underwriting financial modeling and transaction execution.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills with expertise in Excel and related tools.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis loan structuring and fixedincome instruments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
- Highly organized detailoriented and capable of managing multiple transactions and deadlines.
- Proficiency in financial tools and databases such as Bloomberg S&P Capital IQ or similar platforms.
