Job Description: Summer Buyout Investment Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented individual to join our team as a Summer Buyout Investment Associate. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain handson experience in private equity investing with a focus on buyout transactions. As a Summer Associate you will work closely with senior professionals contributing to all aspects of the investment process including deal sourcing evaluation due diligence and portfolio management.
- Conduct detailed market and industry research to identify buyout opportunities in target sectors.
- Analyze target companies financial statements building complex financial models including LBO and DCF analyses.
- Assess operational performance competitive positioning and growth potential of prospective investments.
- Collaborate on preparing investment memoranda and presentations for internal investment committees.
- Support the due diligence process by working with thirdparty advisors and conducting deep dives into financial operational legal and market aspects of target companies.
- Assist in structuring and negotiating transactions including drafting term sheets and reviewing agreements.
- Participate in deal team discussions to assess risks and develop strategies for investment execution.
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams to identify and implement valuecreation strategies.
- Monitor portfolio performance analyzing operational and financial metrics to ensure alignment with investment goals.
- Support the preparation of performance updates and strategic reviews for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Collaborate with senior team members to refine investment theses and develop strategic frameworks.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and discussions on market trends and deal opportunities.
- Gain exposure to senior leadership and learn about the overall private equity investment process.
- Currently pursuing an MBA or other advanced degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field.
- A strong academic track record with demonstrated interest in private equity finance or investing.
- 2 4 years of prior work experience in investment banking management consulting private equity or a highgrowth business environment.
- Experience in financial modeling due diligence and deal execution is strongly preferred.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills including experience with LBO models.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and relevant financial tools (e.g. PitchBook Capital IQ).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for private equity and buyout investing.
- Highly organized and detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and resultsdriven with a commitment to professional excellence.
