Leading supermarket chain is seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to manage the full function of the butchery in their busy store.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor stock levels and order meat and related products to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct regular stock takes to maintain accurate records.
- Ensure all meat products are fresh properly displayed and adhere to food safety standards.
- Oversee the preparation cutting and packaging of meat to meet customer preferences and store standards.
- Ensure all butchery equipment (slicers grinders refrigerators etc.) is in good working condition and properly maintained.
- Adhere to health safety and hygiene standards as per local regulations.
- Ensure proper labelling and pricing of products.
- Train and supervise butchery staff ensuring they are skilled in meat preparation and customer service.
- Create work schedules and manage employee performance.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or staff issues effectively.
- Customer Service & customer Interaction
- Provide expert advice on meat cuts preparation methods and storage tips.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by fulfilling special requests or orders.
- Implement promotions and suggest upselling strategies to increase sales.
- Monitor sales trends to adjust product offerings accordingly.
- Monitor and manage department budgets ensuring profitability.
- Minimize wastage by implementing effective inventory management techniques.
- Track sales performance and generate reports for store management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Butchery Manager
- Blockman qualification (an added advantage)
- Excellent knowledge of meat products
- Strong leadership management and organizational skills
- Must have a customerfocused mindset.
