Role: Head Logistics
Division Function: Manufacturing & SCM
Location: Mumbai
Reporting To: VP/Sr. VP Supply Chain Management
Key Responsibilities:
This leadership position oversees PAN India Logistics function which includes defining and improving Warehouse Operations & Standards Transportation Operations 3PL/CFA Transport Management Inventory Management Distribution Management and Customer Service. This position focusses on continuous improvement of customer service including administration of branch offices and is supported by Zonal/Regional structures
1. Warehouse/Infrastructure Planning: Planning space as per business requirements and checking adequacy of space for various warehouses Setting up a new warehouse planning layout capex racking and handling systems with optimisation of investment and service Support Regional / Zonal team for ensuring time to time infra upgrades as per guidelines.
2. Logistics Operations: Managing and reviewing following operational parameters:
A. Outbound movement
Dispatch efficiency for stock transfers (for RDC)
Dispatch Efficiency for Customer Billing (for Depot) Definition
Vehicle Placement Performance
Vehicle Waiting Time for Loading
Vehicle Loading Time
Vehicle Utilization
Transit Lead Time Compliance
Transporter Exception
B. Inbound movement
Vehicle Waiting Time for Unloading
Vehicle Unloading Time
Number of Vehicle in Detention for Unloading
Shortage/damage receipts at Stockists
Physical submission of PoD and Updating in system
C. Warehouse operations efficiency:
Inventory accuracy by value as per external audit
Compliance of selfaudits
space utilisation
Warehouse score card
3. Transportation:
Review vehicle placement index for all Outbound transportation
Review transit compliance for all Primary & Secondary transportation & evaluate the
transportation performance through score cards
Ensuing all timely recoveries been done from transporters as per the agreements.
Optimal network for transportation optimising service and costs .
Review performance management of all Key vendors
4. Cost & Vendor Management:
Lead budgeting process of Logistics
Drive various initiatives / projects for Cost Savings
Dispute/escalations Management and timely closure if any.
5. People:
Develop the capability of the team ensuring the supply chain organization design is optimized
to meet the business need.
Identify and create opportunity for successor plan for all identified key roles within function.
6. Technology:
Explore digitalization by constantly evaluating the market availability and feasibility for
simplifying process and reducing manual activity.
Drive various automation through technology for highlevel visibility such as TMS WMS etc.
7. Safety:
Drive safety culture within function at all warehouses and branches
Ensure Zero tolerance on noncompliances for Safety Security & all Statutory requirements
Professional Experience/Skills:
Minimum 15 years of experience in SCM with 5 to 7 yrs in Logistics operations in a senior role
Candidate should have worked in Indian organisations having large scale pan India operations handling various SKUs
Team size Approx. 6 to 8 members
Well versed with technology related to logistics
Collaborative and handson approach
