Position Title: Wireless Engineer (US Citizens Only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Responsibilities: - Design configure implement and manage wireless network solutions including WiFi systems for enterprise environments ensuring high availability performance and security.
- Conduct site surveys to assess wireless coverage capacity and interference and recommend optimal designs and solutions based on client needs.
- Install configure and maintain wireless access points (APs) controllers bridges and related networking hardware.
- Optimize and troubleshoot wireless network performance ensuring seamless connectivity and minimal downtime for users.
- Monitor wireless network performance utilizing tools such as Ekahau AirMagnet or similar to analyze signal strength interference and capacity issues.
- Provide detailed documentation for network designs configurations site surveys and installation procedures.
- Implement and maintain wireless security protocols including WPA3 802.1X VPNs and encryption techniques to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate with other teams (e.g. network security and systems engineers) to ensure the wireless network integrates seamlessly with the overall IT infrastructure.
- Stay up to date with the latest wireless technologies trends and best practices and recommend solutions that enhance the user experience and network performance.
- Assist in planning and executing wireless network upgrades expansions and migrations ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for wireless network issues responding to incidents and providing timely resolution.
- Ensure proper capacity planning for wireless networks to support an increasing number of devices applications and users especially in highdensity environments.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new wireless technologies tools and solutions to improve network performance and user experience.
- Provide training and technical guidance to internal teams on wireless network installation troubleshooting and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Wireless Engineer Network Engineer or in a similar role with handson experience in wireless network design deployment and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies including WiFi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies and related protocols (e.g. WPA2 WPA3).
- Expertise in the design configuration and optimization of wireless LANs including configuring access points (APs) controllers and wireless bridges.
- Experience with wireless site survey tools (e.g. Ekahau AirMagnet) to assess and plan coverage capacity and performance for wireless networks.
- Strong understanding of wireless security principles and best practices including secure wireless access 802.1X authentication and encryption.
- Experience networking protocols (TCP/IP DHCP DNS) and technologies related to wireless networks (VLANs QoS traffic shaping).
- Experience with wireless network monitoring tools (e.g. Wireshark SolarWinds PRTG) to troubleshoot analyze and optimize network performance.
- Handson experience with wireless controllers AP configurations and managing largescale wireless network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex wireless network issues.
- Excellent analytical communication and problemsolving skills with the ability to interact with both technical and nontechnical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects working independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with cloudbased wireless management solutions (e.g. Cisco Meraki Ubiquiti Aruba Cloud) is a plus.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
