Position: VDOT GIS Analyst
Location: Richmond VA (23219)
Client: State of Virginia
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to provide advanced GIS support for a longterm project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GIS application development and be proficient in creating and managing GIS maps and reports. This role requires collaboration with VDOT field users to deliver expert GIS solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage GIS maps and associated reports using ArcGIS.
- Utilize data from various sources (Excel databases) for map creation.
- Provide expert advice and support for GIS mapping requests.
- Develop GIS tools and applications independently.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to nontechnical users.
Key Skills:
- BS/BA in GIS Geography Cartography Computer Science or related field.
- 48 years of GIS experience with 5 years in web application development.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS software suite and ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Strong problemsolving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python; experience with Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL is a plus.
