Position: Splunk Cyber Security Engineer
Location: Fairfax VA (22030)
Client: State of Virginia
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Splunk Cyber Security Engineer to manage and optimize data ingestion within our Splunk environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for onboarding new data sources maintaining existing log sources and ensuring overall backend integrity of the Splunk system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and configure Splunk indexes and log sources.
- Onboard new data sources and maintain current log ingestion processes.
- Perform Red Hat Linux administration and security patching.
- Handle Splunk app installations updates and research addons.
- Provide support for Splunkrelated outages and perform change management.
Key Technical Skills:
- Splunk Core (3 years)
- Splunk ES (3 years)
- Red Hat Linux Administration (3 years)
- Networking Knowledge (2 years)
- Linux Syslog Administration (2 years)
