The operation Manager should be a highly experienced mining industry professional to take a chromite project from development stage to operation. A history of achievement in the mining industry with experience in feasibility studies with a demonstrable record of success in multicultural and multilingual environments and expertise in the construction management and development of chromite mines. The operation manager will be also responsible for the sale and the P&L of the of chromite operation.
Develop an execution strategy to advance chromite projects into construction and development on a timely basis and within budget.
- Manage all the mining activities starting from mining plans to implementation including continuous review to optimize the plan for the best of the company.
- Manage all geotechnical including planning and monitoring.
- Manage and plan the blasting activities.
- Manage the survey activities.
- Manage the hauling loading and transportation of the waste ore and final product (concentrate).
- Safely manage and deliver on safety and operational efficiency by driving continuous improvement and sustainable solutions in line with strategic plans.
- Post construction lead and direct all the technical services and operational functions (operations planning strategic planning geology survey
- geotechnical processing maintenance and production) that ensures the optimization of resources through effective execution of short medium and
- longterm mines plans.
- Establishment of a highly focused comprehensive community consultation and information sharing process to ensure all stakeholders are kept advised of the project development.
- Assuring that Best practice are demonstrated in all aspects of the work.
- Recruitment of relevant expertise for project execution and performance management of the project team when needed.
- Development of an environmentally conscious and safe working culture.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with other industry professionals government officials and landowners.
- Close financial management to ensure the delivery of highly cost effective and value for money outcome.
- Development of health and safety processes to support employees and contractors in very diverse situations across the business.
- Manage day to day all site operation from it s starting of the construction of the mines to development and operation to the concentrator and lastly transport the concentrate to the port.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive concrete product sales meeting revenue and profitability targets.
- Manage customer relationships ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any inquiries or concerns related to concrete product quality and delivery.
- Oversee logistics for concrete distribution ensuring timely and costeffective delivery to customers.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to ensure sufficient supply to meet demand.
- Mentorship of local staff
- Other as directed the head of project development.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years experience in mining including at least 5 years in management at a senior level and successful track record.
- Bachelor s degree in mining engineering Metallurgy Geology or other mining related qualifications.
- Postgraduate qualification in business studies or project management an advantage.
- Extensive project construction experience including senior roles and managing a number of major mining projects.
- Significant project delivery and operating experience.
- Demonstrate organizational skills for leading a team including budgeting hiring and management/monitoring and associated works force.
- Proven leadership ability drive and commitment.
- Effective relationship building skills.
- Articulate and clear writing style with proven experience of writing internal communication
- Capability to interact with organizations at the highest level domestically and internationally.
- Attentive to international sociopolitical and economic development influencing the mining industry s performance.
